Because we are a small company, much of our merchandise is custom ordered as opposed to being stocked at a warehouse location. We have attempted to note throughout the website what is custom made, custom ordered, and stocked. Because of these circumstances our return policy is the following:
1. Stocked items- All generally stocked items including, but not limited to hose, plain garter flashes, hats, belts, shirts, ties, scarves, sgian dubhs, and jewelry can be exchanged or we can provide a full refund for if you are not satisfied. All exchanges or refunds must be made within 30 days of receiving the item.
2. Custom Ordered Items- All custom ordered or custom made items including but not limited to kilts, skirts, jackets, vests, shoes, sporrans, tartan fabric, shoulder plaids, sashes, and tartan flashes are subject to a 50% deposit fee. Any of these items can be exchanged for a restocking fee of 15% of the value of the item. If you decide to return the item for a refund you will only receive 50% of the total amount of the order. As with any tailored item, it is quite expensive and time consuming to create these garments from scratch, so we need to cover the cost of materials even if you decide not to keep the item. All exchanges and returns must be made within 30 days of receiving the item.
3. Measuring and Sizing- We ask that you please make sure that your measurements are correct and if you need any help or advice contact us before sending the order. We are not responsible for items produced from incorrect measurements. All items are provided with U.S. sizing in mind. Many of the items (shoes and jackets in particular) are often shipped in the original U.K. size and we will try to provide you with the closest size that approximates the U.S. equivalent. With this in mind, try on the garment first, see if it fits the way that you would expect, and contact us if there are any problems.
4. Condition of Returned Items- All items must be returned without significant wear. There cannot be any stains, scuffs, nicks, tears, odors, or stretching of any kind on a returned garment or accessory. Shoes must be tried on indoors and not walked in to any great extend and never worn outside if you intend to exchange or return them.
5. Shipping Damage- If an item arrives to you in damaged condition please notify us immediately. Damage could occur during transit and we insure all items being sent. If damage has occurred during shipping, place the item back in the package, notify us of the problem, and we will arrange to have the item sent back.
6. Faulty Workmanship- If the item arrives in obviously faulty condition (clasp on pin breaks after first use, kilt stitching is coming out, moth hole on the edge of the tie, ect.) please notify us immediately and we will replace the item at no cost to you. We inspect every item that is sent out and try to provide you with the best condition possible, but if there is a problem we will fix or replace it at the earliest possible convenience.
7. Delivery Time- The delivery times that are posted are based on the average time it takes for the item to arrive to our facility once it is ordered. We will ship it out promptly after that. We cannot guarantee a specific delivery date. Many factors can occur including material shortages, back orders, shipping problems, communication problems, and labor issues which might alter the delivery schedule. We will try to notify the customer of these issues as we become aware of them. Our standard Return/ Refund policies from above (#’s 1. and 2.) will still be observed if the garment that you order has not arrived by the date that you would like it. With this in mind, please order as far in advance as possible (6 months is a good window for special occasions).
